Director, Government Affairs
Laura Madden serves as government affairs liaison and lobbyist for the federal side of the CSPA Government Affairs Department, to increase the CSPA presence on Capitol Hill as a key resource to provide expertise and advocacy on legislative and policy matters that impact the consumer products industry. She works closely with the CSPA Chemical Management Policy Team (CMPT) and Federal Government Affairs Advisory Committee (GAAC) on strategy and positions on priority issues, including environmental regulations on chemicals management policy and chemical safety. In these efforts, Madden also works collaboratively with other trade associations and stakeholder groups to develop and maintain working alliances on legislative and regulatory matters before Congress and federal agencies.
She also serves as Staff Executive for the CSPA Polishes and Floor Maintenance Division to develop and direct their agenda to provide expertise, leadership and innovation in floor safety and sustainable product development.
Madden has worked as a congressional staffer in both the U.S. House and Senate, and has been actively engaged in legislative affairs as a lobbyist and government affairs professional for 24 years in Washington D.C. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Organization and Community Development from George Mason University.
