D. Douglas Fratz
Vice President Scientific & Technical Affairs
Doug Fratz is Vice President of Scientific and Technical Affairs for the Consumer Specialty Products Association. He serves as Staff Executive for the Aerosol Products Division, as well as managing the Scientific Affairs Committee, and has worked at CSPA since 1980. During that time, he has been involved in a wide range of scientific and regulatory projects and issues, focusing on environmental, health and safety regulations critical to the consumer specialty products industry.
Since the late 1980s, much of his work has focused on volatile organic compound regulations and related atmospheric and air quality issues in California and on the federal level. He also is very active in coordinating aerosol product issues with other industry representatives worldwide.
Prior to joining the Association, Fratz spent five years as a research chemist at the Food & Drug Association involved in the regulation of food, drug and cosmetic color additives, and two years as a biomedical laboratory research assistant at the National Institutes of Health.
Fratz received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of Maryland, and his Master of Science in Environmental Science from the George Washington University. His scientific expertise is in chemical health and safety as well as air quality and atmospheric science.
