D. Douglas Fratz
Senior Science Fellow
D. Douglas Fratz has been with CSPA since 1980 and is currently Senior Science Fellow for the Association. In this capacity, he serves as Staff Executive for the Aerosol Products Division and its many committees. Doug is active in coordinating aerosol product issues with other industry representatives worldwide, including other U.S.-based aerosol associations. He also oversees the high priority Consumer Product Ingredients Dictionary initiative. Since the late 1980s, much of Doug’s work has focused on volatile organic compound regulations and related atmospheric and air quality issues in California and elsewhere on the state and federal level.
Prior to joining CSPA, Doug spent five years as a research chemist at the Food & Drug Administration, where he was involved in the regulation of food, drug and cosmetic color additives, and two years as a biomedical laboratory research assistant at the National Institutes of Health. Doug received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Maryland and his Master of Science in Environmental Science from the George Washington University. His scientific expertise is in chemical health and safety as well as air quality and atmospheric science.
