AEROSOL DIVISION

    Mission Statement: 
The Aerosol Products Division membership represents more than 80 percent of the current U.S. domestic aerosol industry's production capacity. The Division provides leadership on critical issues confronting the aerosol industry, and recommends positions on emerging aerosol-related matters of interest to the Association.   
    Types of Products Represented:
The Aerosol Products Division represents all types of products packaged in self-dispensing, pressurized containers, including spray products and foam products, used by household, institutional, commercial, and industrial consumers.
    Types of Companies Represented:
Aerosol product marketers, contract fillers, suppliers of packaging components (containers, valves, overcaps, etc.), suppliers of aerosol ingredients (propellants, solvents, etc.), aerosol manufacturing equipment suppliers, aerosol technology consultants, and others involved in manufacturing, development, testing, and distribution of aerosol products.
 

    Key Initiatives:
· Assuring that aerosol manufacturing and storage fire and building codes allow continued manufacture, storage, distribution and retail display of aerosol products.
· Promoting the effectiveness, safety and environmental compatibility of the aerosol form.
· Assuring that international harmonization of aerosol flammability classification and labeling is appropriately implemented and prevents non-tariff barriers to trade.
· Developing standard specifications for aerosol packaging components.
· Developing standard test methods for aerosol products.
· Assuring that federal and state air quality (VOC) regulations for consumer products allow aerosol products to remain technologically and commercially feasible.
· Promoting aerosol recycling as part of curbside metal recycling programs.
· Educating youth to avoid the dangers of inhalation abuse.
· Managing aerosol flammability and safety issues in various federal, state and local venues.
· Promoting the use of "No CFC" labeling and consumer education that aerosols do not contain CFCs.
· Educating industry professionals by holding scientific seminars on aerosol technology and propellant safety, as well as by publishing scientific compendia relating to aerosol safety and testing.
· Conducting an annual survey of aerosol unit production, now in its 51st year.
· Coordinating with international aerosol industry representatives on issues of mutual interest.
· Developing a wide range of educational and informative programs at CSPA Mid-Year and Annual Meetings of interest to a broad range of industry members.
· Coordinating with regional aerosol industry groups to provide better services for all industry members.
