CSPA Reminds Consumers to Protect Themselves Against H1N1 Influenza Virus

WASHINGTON, DC June 11, 2009) – In the wake of today’s World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) announcement to declare a full-scale pandemic for the H1N1 Influenza virus, the Consumer Specialty Products Association is reminding consumers to take practical steps to help keep healthy.

“It has been 41 years since we have been faced with such a pandemic and it is critical that everyone take the proper preventive measures to help protect themselves and their families,” said Chris Cathcart, president of CSPA. 

“Flu viruses are spread through coughing, sneezing, or touching a contaminated surface.  Using antimicrobial products such as disinfectants to clean surfaces and objects handled by people with the influenza is an important part of preventing the spread of dangerous germs,” Cathcart concluded.
